Franz Erhard Walther -- working with simple connections between people (a straight line is the quickest way between two points?). This honesty of intention is mirrored in the directness of his materials; he works in a Beuysian palette of olives, browns, greys, and unbleached muslin -- cotton and wool and felt. This all has a certain quiet sweetness and earnestness to it that I find very appealing.
