Alexander McQueen "VOSS" Spring/Summer 2001

Sorry if this is cliche, but I fell in love with this at the Savage Beauty exhibit, and is the absolute most perfect thing I can think of as inspiration for my collection. This is one of the best garments I've seen that incorporates Japanese elements, not done by a Japanese designer. I've also recently become interested in incorporating other materials, particularly steel. While there is no steel used in this, I really enjoy the texture the light reflected off the oyster shells create, as well as the combination of the edge and the delicacy of the neckpiece. I think steel would be a good starting material.
